The challenge: automated 2D CAM, but blind to collisions
ALUMAT designs and manufactures dies (molds) for the extrusion of aluminum profiles: each part is unique, making the production process complex and meticulous, both in CAD/CAM and in the workshop.
Before GO2cam, the company used an old 2D CAM software, automated with a series of macros — but without the ability to simulate machining, therefore without any means to anticipate a collision or error before the workshop.
